Luana Steinmetz Dias

Uninter Student Global Ambassador 2022

Luana Steinmetz dedicates herself to ensuring the human rights of children and adolescents. She is pursuing a degree in Social Work at UNINTER. Born in the south of Brazil, Luana works as a supervisor for teenagers in a shelter for infants and teenage girls called Vila Betânia, in the northeast of Brazil. She supports children who were not adopted and need assistance preparing for post-shelter adult life. Luana is also part of the World Without Orphans (WWO) team that assists orphaned and vulnerable children in the country. Luana’s goal is to fight so that the institutionalization of the most vulnerable children and adolescents in shelters is no longer necessary. She strives towards a world in which all orphan teenagers can find a safe and loving family.
